PrepAZ.com's "Elite Eleven" - November 27, 20006

1.  MOUNTAIN VIEW (MESA)  - Last Week #1
Record: 0-0
Comments: Opens up this Thursday at Hamilton
2.  DESERT VISTA  - Last Week #2
Record: 5-0
Comments:

Winner of the Salpointe Tip-off Classic. Cruised through the field with wins over Arcadia (85-48), Desert Edge (78-41), Saguaro (89-57), Buena (63-47) and in the Championship Salpointe (74-49)

3.  SAINT MARY'S  - Last Week #3
Record: 1-2
Comments: Finished 1-2 in the National Trusted Choice Tournament of Champions.  Win came against Chicago Lincoln Park (IL)  (57-56).  Soph P Bryan Fulton 6-7 and G Matt Skealy 6-5 played well for the Knights along with All-Everything Jerryd Bayless who was named to the All Tournament Team
4.  DOBSON - Last Week #4
Record: 0-0
Comments: The Mustangs open up Tuesday (11/28) against Saguaro
5.  HAMILTON - Last Week #5
Record: 0-0
Comments: Lloyd Hickinson and co. get thrown into the fire this Tuesday against #1 Mountain View!
6.  SALPOINTE - Last Week NR
Record: 4-1
Comments: Dropped the Championship game to #2 Desert Vista in the Salpointe Tip-off Classic.  New boss Sean Loomer looks like he has squashed any rumblings he can't coach the "other main sport"
7.  GILBERT - Last Week #7
Record: 4-1
Comments: The Tigers had a strong showing in Tucson (Salpointe Tip-off Classic).  Their only loss came to finalist Salpointe in a 71-67 dogfight.
8.  PARADISE VALLEY - Last Week #10
Record: 4-1
Comments: Alex English 6-11 and Chris Bonham 6-9 are the tallest front line in Arizona but the Trojans of PV have athletes in the backcourt which helped them to a 4-1 record in the Paradise Valley Thanksgiving Tournament.
9.  CESAR CHAVEZ - Last Week NR
Record: 3-1
Comments: Who the hell are these guys?  The Champions that's who!  And they just win baby!  Athletic and run the floor.  Let's see how long (lack of size) keeps them in the "Elite Eleven"?
10.  DESERT MOUNTAIN - Last Week NR
Record: 3-0
Comments: Head Coach Todd Fazio and the Wolves shocked the World (well maybe not the world, but AZ prep hoop fans) when they knocked of Corona del Sol in the Championship game of the Mesa Jackrabbit Invitiational.  If memory serves me, this is the first time ever, Desert Mountain has landed in any team rankings on PrepAZ.com.  Will it last?
11.  MESA - Last Week #6
Record: 2-1
Comments: Demetrius Crowell is injured again, but when the Idaho bound forward returns, Mesa will climb up the ladder.  Finished 2-1 in the MEsa Invitaional last week.
DROPPED OUT: Mt. Pointe, Buena, Mt. Ridge

TEAMS ON THE BUBBLE: Brophy, Sandra Day O'Conner, Deer Valley, Trevor Browne, Basha, Pinnacle
